The current 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, has little chance of being forgotten by history, for good or ill.
When asked to name one of the previous 44, many people will have such titans of American history ready on their lips. Starting with the very first one, George Washington or perhaps the man seen by many as the great emancipator, Abraham Lincoln.
Few of the names on this list would spring to mind when thinking about the great political figures that have shaped and guided America since the office of the President was established in 1789.
Their faces don’t adorn any coins, bills or stamps and few monuments, if any at all, have been built to commemorate their great deeds and accomplishments on the battlefield, from the Oval Office or standing tall on the world stage.
