A boxing match on board the USS Oregon in 1897.
I love looking at these iconic photos
Those photos, while capturing iconic moments, tend to break my heart. The horrors of wars, both foreign and domestic, are chilling. However, we must remember to ensure they are not repeated.
I was thinking the exact same thing Julie…
Very outstanding photos,Thank You.
The pictures are great, history can really teach you something important.
They don’t make anymore like these people were. They are all so very special however you may think and feel about them.
Castro and Lincoln….could have been twins. Both are members of the “successful murderers club”.
That was uncalled for. Lincoln had the good of mankind in his heart. Yes, there was a war during his time in office, but it resulted in the freeing of slaves. Castro the communist, on the other hand, is worthy of every scrap of scorn that can be healed on his evil, murderous head!
What a great collections of pictures are saved for future generations. GREAT
All of these photos remind me of my papaw!!! My Mamaw has shown me all of his pics from way back when he was in war. She also has several pics from him building the RR tracks in West Virginia!!! I love seeing the captures all in black and white. That tells a story themselves!!!!!
The ultimate of heartache.
