Everyone knows about the tragic events that took place in Hiroshima, on August 6, 1945. This incredibly sad photo depicts one more time, the horrors of war. People can be seen gathered together shortly after the atomic bomb that was dropped, utterly shocked and confused. Approximately 30% of the city of Hiroshima…70,000 to 80,000 people…died in the bombing and at least 70,000 more people were severely injured. Almost 75% of the buildings in the city were damaged or destroyed.
After the initial blast, the bombing caused fires that burned through the ruble and gutted. All these poor people had as a warnings were the initial bright explosion and the earsplitting boom that followed.
