The annual outdoor music festival in Knebworth, England hosted some pretty famous rock legends in its days. Queen, Led Zeppelin, The Beach Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Pink Floyd are only a few of the all-time favorite bands that rocked the stage in Knebworth. Truth be told, the first rock festival organized there, featured performances by The Doobie Brothers and the Allman Brother Band. We are talking about 1974 when it was freshly opened. A few years later, in 1976, The Rolling Stones took the stage by storm.
In this photo, we can see Linda McCartney, Paul McCartney, and David Gilmour eagerly waiting for the performance of the Rolling Stones. I’m sure they were not disappointed although Lynyrd Skynyrd is said to have had a better show that day.
