Harpers Ferry National Historical Park

Visiting the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park really is like you’ve taken a trip in a time machine. Abolitionist John Brown made history here by attempting to rob an armoury in his fight against U.S. forces and slavery. He was later captured and hanged.

Today you can visit the firehouse, known as John Brown’s Fort, pictured above. But for a much bigger glimpse at history, the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park also offers workshops through which you and your loved ones can learn how people used to live decades ago.
