Huge waterspout heading towards Tampa, Florida, 2013

It might seem cool when seen in a picture, but for the residents of Tampa, Florida, there was nothing cool about this huge waterspout heading their way. Maybe because waterspouts are pretty much tornadoes, only that they are formed over water instead of over land. They might not have the same intensity as land-based tornadoes, but they are still super scary and frightening.

Waterspouts usually last around five or ten minutes, but this gives them plenty of time to do significant damage. The waterspout in the picture was captured by video and photo by Joey Mole, resident of Tampa, Florida.
